Two major construction industry groups recent press releases demonstrate how one’s political views  change with the economy.  My guess is that the construction industry is a pretty conservative group that does not like government spending and interference in their business.  Most likely didn’t favor the Stimulus Act.

Look at the Associated General Contractors and the American Subcontractors Association recent comments.
